Rickey Blythe, Pastor
Bro. Rick was born in Baldwyn, Mississippi on May 18, 1960 but considers himself a native of New Albany and Union County. He and his wife Reta are graduates of East Union High School. They are the proud parents of three children: Kelly Miller and her husband Nathan, son Robbie and his wife Angela, and daughter Katie. Bro. Rick is a 1989 graduate of Blue Mountain College and a 1994 graduate of Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. In February 2007, Bro. Rick accepted the pastorate of FBC New Albany. His hobbies include watching high school and college football, golf, turkey hunting, and riding motorcycles. His philosophy of preaching is taken from Oswald Chambers classic My Utmost For His Highest, “Preach the word, preach it in its undiluted sternness. Their must be unflinching loyalty to the Word of God. But when you come to dealing with your fellow man remember who you are, not a special being made in heaven, but a sinner saved by grace.” His favorite verse is Galatians 2:20, “I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.”

Paul Sizemore, Youth & Children
Paul was born and raised in London, KY. He attended Clarke College ( a division of Mississippi College at the time) in Newton, MS where he received his undergraduate degree in 1989. He received his seminary degree from Southwestern Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, TX in 1994. He has served at First Baptist Church of Union, MS as Youth Minister and also at Highlands Baptist Church in Huntsville, AL as Youth and Education Minister before coming to New Albany in December of 2000.

He is married to Donna Kay Gomillion of Union, MS. They met at Clarke College and married in December of 1987. They have three children, Hanna, Ali and David. Paul’s interests include basketball, jogging, watching older episodes of Law and Order and he is also an avid Kentucky Wildcat fan. He also enjoys vacationing with his family and playing their Wii.

One of Paul’s favorite Bible verses is 2 Peter 1:3 which says; ”His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness.” God has used this verse to help him understand that not only does God call us to a life of godliness, He also empowers us live lives that are pleasing to Him. Paul encourages students to fill their lives with the things of God and to allow themselves to be transformed by the renewing of their minds (Romans 12:1-2).
